Our Mission:

Waterloo Road Baptist Church exists to connect people to Jesus:
His truth, His family, and His mission.

What We Believe

In essential beliefs – we have UNITY.

“There is one body and one Spirit… there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all…” Ephesians 4:4-6

In non-essential beliefs – we have LIBERTY.

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgement on disputable matters…  Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?  To his own master he stands or falls…  So then each of us will give an account of himself to God…  So whatever you believe about things, keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

In all our beliefs – we show LOVE.

“…If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains, but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

We Believe:

… the Scriptures are true, authoritative and sufficient. Expand

Psalm 19:7-10; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

… there is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Expand

Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-6, 46:9-10; John 17:1-5; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:13-17, 28:17-20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

… all humanity, Christ excluded, is sinful by both birth and action. Expand

Genesis 6:5; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23, 5:8, 5:12-21, 7:18; Ephesians 2:1-3

… the deserved penalty for sin is physical and spiritual death. Expand

Genesis 2:15-17, 3:19; Romans 5:12, 6:23; James 1:14-15

… Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human. Expand

Matthew 1:20; Luke 2:52; John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-3

… Jesus Christ died as the sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin. Expand

John 1:29, 10:1-18; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 1:4; 1 Peter 3:18

… Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, physically ascended into heaven, and will one day physically return. Expand

Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-53; John 20:1-29; 1 Corinthians 15:1-34; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Hebrews 9:28; 1 John 3:2; Revelation 1:7

… there will be a future physical resurrection of the dead. Only those who turn from sin and to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to eternal reward in heaven. Those who do not turn from sin and to Jesus will be raised to eternal punishment in hell. Expand

Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15

… only through faith in the Person and finished work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy. Expand

John 3:18, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Timothy 2:5-6

… because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Expand

We are a Southern Baptist (SBC) congregation.  We cooperate with other like-minded churches within the Metro Baptist Network OKC.

Becoming a Christian

Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ is the greatest decision you will ever make. God loves you and sent His son, Jesus, with the eternal purpose of giving His life in your place on the cross! So how do you accept this free gift of Salvation?

Admit Expand

Admit that you are a sinner and repent (or turn) from your sin. Romans 3:23 says “all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.”

Believe Expand

You are saved by faith, believing that God sent His son to die on the cross for your sin. John 3:16 says “for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life.”

Commit Expand

This decision is about making Jesus Christ the Lord (Boss, Savior, Coach) of your life. You are surrendering your desires for His. Romans 10:9-10 tells us how to be saved: “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Joining the Church

Why does membership matter? We take membership seriously. Committing yourself to a body of believers is weighty, yet absolutely wonderful. As a member, you are committed to a spiritual family that provides community, support, and encouragement.

There are a three ways to become a member of WRBC.

  • A testimony of your personal profession of faith in Christ followed by Biblical Baptism by immersion here at WRBC.
  • Transfer of your church membership from another Southern Baptist church.
  • A statement of your previous decision to follow Christ and Biblical Baptism.

Respond by coming forward during an invitation time in one of our worship services to let us know your desire to join WRBC.

* If you would like to find out more regarding church membership, consider joining our next New Member Class.
