As a member of the Student Leadership Team, there are some non-negotiables that we ask of you. There is some responsibility that comes with leadership, and we are asking you to strive for excellence in all these areas.
Living a life worthy of the gospel of Christ:
- Abiding in Christ and living above reproach.
- Demonstrates a passionate commitment to resisting habitual sin and maintaining a lifestyle that avoids even the appearance of evil
- Practicing accountability with your peers
- Participating in activities to stir your affections towards Christ
- Quickly confessing our sins to God and each other and quickly repenting of your sins as well.
Having a daily walk with Christ:
- Having daily time spent in prayer and studying the Bible
- Being discipled by someone in the church
- Bearing the fruits of the spirit and pruning bad fruits or overgrown branches to allow growth
- Doing your role to advance the gospel
- Having gospel conversations with your nonbelieving friends
- Sharing the things of Christ with your believer and nonbeliever friends
- Interceding for your friends and nonbelievers
Championing your local church:
- Inviting your friends to church
- Doing your part to implement the vision for the church set forth by the Senior Pastor and the vision set forth in the student ministry
- Not causing division among the church and in the student ministry
Serving in the Student Ministry
- Being an active participant in our Wednesday night gatherings
- Serving in areas as requested
- Leading discussion groups
- Being an Example to those around you
- Having gospel conversations with students and seeking out the marginalized and excluded
- Being inviting and being willing to attempt to talk to any student
- Fight diligently to resolve conflict with believers in a scriptural manner
